This month’s sweepstakes winner is Blanca Bedoya of Revere. Bedoya has one child, Miguel, who is a rising junior at Revere High School.
Blanca learned about Inversant through her son’s high school and but had also heard from others what a great program it was for parents. “It sounded like a great opportunity to learn and to save for my son’s college education,” says Blanca. “It seemed like one of the best programs the school was offering, so I decided to sign on.” Prior to signing on with Inversant, Blanca had starting saving for her son’s college education through her employer, but the incentives Inversant offered like matched savings encouraged her to save even more.
Since Blanca did not attend college herself, learning how to navigate the college application process was even more important. “College has always in the plan for my son,” says Bedoya. “I wanted him to have the opportunity to attend college since I did not.” Miguel is still considering which college he will attend when he graduates high school, but Blanca understands how important it is to have a higher education. “Going to college opens up so many opportunities and hopefully he can study and work in a field that he loves someday.”
As Miguel approaches his senior year at Revere High, Blanca and her son will begin to tour colleges and explore different options for his major. “Time goes by quickly, and it will be here before you know it, so we are already starting to think ahead.” says Blanca.
